Gems for planets

For a very long time, people have used the power of various gems to get relief from problems arising due to unfavorable astrological situations. In this page, I want to give an introduction to the power of gems and how we can use them to our advantage.

Why gems?

Accordingly to Indian Astrology, our Solar System has 11 celestial bodies - Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Rahu (shadow of Saturn) and Ketu (shadow of Mars). The outer planets, namely Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are have effects at macro level rather than at a level of a single person since they take a long time to travel through the cosmos. For instance, Pluto takes almost 250 years to complete 1 round around the Sun. Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu have very noticable effects on our lives as they govern external factors, whereas the Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars and Mercury govern our personality traits and traits of those around us, such as friends, bosses and family members.

For each planet, there is a precious stone and a semi precious stone which can be used to get the positive effects of the planet's influence on us. For example, we have Pearl for the Moon and Ruby for the Sun. Wearing a gemstone either as a pendant or a ring helps to get the positive effects of the planet and reduce it's negative effects.

Gems can be obtained for as little or as much money as you can spend. However, it's not always necessary that only those spending a huge amount of money on gems will get their benefits. A decent quality gem will do good if properly energized and cared for. Once you obtain the correct gem for yourself, you need to energize it with the correct rituals and then wear it at the right time on the right day of the week. For example, the Blue Sapphire (for Saturn) is supposed to be worn on a Saturday.
